Configuring Entourage for an Exchange Server
- Open the Entourage Application, part of the Microsoft Office suite.
- From the 'Tools' menu, select 'Accounts'.
- Click New.
- Click the drop-down menu to choose the Account Type, and choose IMAP. Then click OK.
- Fill out the resulting settings page:
- Account Name - This is the name your email client will display for the Exchange account. "Vetmed," "IMAP," or your department name are good choices.
- E-mail address - Enter your Vetmed e-mail address.
- Account ID - Enter your Vetmed username.
- IMAP Server - Enter "imap.vetmed.wsu.edu".
- Password - Enter the password associated with your Vetmed account. You can leave this field blank if you'd like to log on each time you start Entourage.
- SMTP server - Enter "smtp.vetmed.wsu.edu".
- Click Click here for advanced sending options.
- Check SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL).
- Check Override default SMTP port, and type "25" into the field next to it.
- Check SMTP requires authentication, and mark the button for "Use same settings as receiving mail server.
- Click outside the advanced option box to close it.
- Click OK.
Your IMAP account should now be configured correctly, you will be able to send/recieve email as well as use the calender and other Office features. The next step is to configure Entourage to search the Vetmed user directory so email recipients can be easily found.
Directory Setup
- Click the 'Directory' tab in the 'Edit Account' window.
- LDAP Server - Enter "directory.wsu.edu"
- Search Base - Enter "dc=vetmed, dc=wsu, dc=edu"
Your IMAP account is now fully set to send and recieve Vetmed email. Click 'OK' in the bottom right corner to return to Entourage.
