Finding Your Computer's Name

Your Computer's Name on the Network (Windows XP)

• Click Start
• Click Run
• Type "sysdm.cpl" without the quotes and Press Enter
• Click the Computer Name tab
• The name will be listed in this tab as Full Computer Name. This is the name the network uses to identify your computer.

Windows Vista

• Open the Start Menu
• Right-click Computer and click Properties
• On the left-hand side of the system window, under tasks, click Advanced system settings
• If User Account Control asks your permission to continue, click Continue
• In the System Properties window, click the Computer Name tab
• The name will be listed in this tab as Full Computer Name. This is the name the network uses to identify your computer.
